- Identify the malfunctioning brake light. In the video, the left brake lamp is indicated as malfunctioning on the dashboard while the top brake light is not lit. [1:00]
- Locate the brake light assembly. You can find it behind the carpets. There are five bolts holding the assembly in place. [1:10]
- Remove the brake light assembly. Unclip the wire connectors by pressing on both sides and then pull the connector out. Then, push the entire brake assembly out and remove the rear brake lamp. [1:20]
- Inspect the brake light bulb. You can see three torx screws that you can remove using a torx screwdriver. After that, you can remove the entire assembly and check the bulb. In the video, the filament inside the bulb is broken. [1:30]
- Fix the issue. There are two ways to fix the issue. One way is to cut out the entire bulb and replace it with a third party one. You would need to solder in some wires and brackets to glue the bulbs in place. The other way is to replace the entire brake light assembly. You can find the replacement parts online or at a local spare part shop. [1:40]
